Recommended Route for Vehicles under 11'9" / 3.58m high

This route avoids almost all the narrow stretches of road but does pass beneath a lowish railway bridge. Head towards Fowey along the A390. Leave the A390 and join the A3082 at the roundabout at the foot of the St. Blazey Gate hill near the Britannia Inn pub. After passing beneath 2 railway bridges turn right into Par by Richards' Grocers. Stay on the A3082 through Par and all the way to Fowey.

From the Four Turnings roundabout on the outskirts of Fowey just after the Texaco garage, turn onto Passage Lane (signposted Bodinnick, Ferry and Docks). Drive down the hill 0.4 miles, at the bottom the road swings sharply to the left. Immediately after the sharp left hand bend turn left between two granite gateposts signposted "Lescrow House and Lescrow Farm Only" and the "Caravan Club CL" into the narrow lane. The caravan site is located 40 metres up the lane on the right. Caravaners are advised to take a wide turn as you leave Passage Lane to keep well clear of the granite gateposts.

Reccommended Route For Vehicles Over 11'9" / 3.58m high

This route avoids almost all the narrow stretches of road and avoids all low railway bridges. Head towards Fowey along the A390. In St. Blazey turn onto Trenovissick Road next to the Four Lords pub. Stay on this road for 0.7 miles then turn left onto the A3082 at the mini roundabout signposted "St. Austell, Liskeard A390". After 0.47 miles turn right onto St. Andrews road just after the Roselyon Coaches bus depot. Carry straight on for 0.87 miles onto the Par one way system, stay in the left hand lane to rejoin the A3082 to Fowey.

After 4 miles go straight over the Four Turnings roundabout on the outskirts of Fowey onto Passage Lane (signposted Bodinnick, Ferry and Docks). Alternative Route

If you are arriving from the direction of Bodmin or Lostwithiel you could leave the A390 at the B3269. Stay on this road for 4.4 miles until you reach the Four Turnings roundabout on the outskirts of Fowey then follow the directions in the paragraph above. Please note, there are narrow stretches of road along this route and although it is possible with a caravan or motor home it is unlikely to be a stress free experience. It should only be attempted by confident, experienced drivers.

Daft Route

Visitors heading from the direction of Looe or Polperro might be tempted to arrive in Fowey via the Bodinnick Ferry. I would strongly caution motor home owners against this route and, caravaners, frankly you'd have to be mad to try it. You have been warned!

Tips

As you drive down Passage Lane, just before the sharp left hand turn, you will see a CL sign fixed to a granite wall on the left to warn you that the site is approaching. As stated above, you will see a second CAMC sign fixed to the granite gatepost on the left at the bottom of my lane. If the road has narrowed you will have gone too far. If you see a lane without a CAMC CL sign and no slate sign stating “Lescrow House and Lescrow Farm only” do not drive up it…it is not a CL, we do not live there! Once on my lane you will see a shed on the right with a CL sign fixed clearly to it. Drive onto the CL take a deep breath and relax, you are on holiday!
